Quiet without compromise

"Acoustic testing methods can reveal how effectively the design reduces sound evenly across a range of frequencies."

FUTURE

This leaves us at the most daunting but exciting part of Mysonic's journey. The future.

Now we have a physical direction to build and improve. We want to move away from a PHA 3D-printed model toward a fully functioning, wearable mycelium-based prototype, getting our green fingers dirty by experimenting with how different mycelium formulations, densities, structures and methods of forming the mycelium can affect the overall product. We don't want to recreate what already exists, but rather innovate by pushing the limits of what mycelium is capable of.

From there, our focus will be constant testing and refinement. Test groups could show us how the form performs in the ears of a mixed pool of users, and acoustic testing methods can reveal how effectively the design reduces sound evenly across a range of frequencies, with the findings fed directly into future versions. Ultimately, we want to see how far a concept can go. From a promising prototype to an expert-level earplug that is comfortable, desirable and a go-to alternative to conventional disposable earplugs, all in one package.
