MYCELIUM - MORE THAN MEETS THE EAR
Mycelium (My-see-lee-uhm) is a natural structure produced by mushrooms/fungi that are thread-like in their appearance. Where mycelium shines is in its ability to be processed into lightweight, biodegradable materials. This material can be used for a variety of practical functions, including packaging, textiles, and more importantly... earplugs!
MUSH-ROOM FOR ONE MORE?
The earplug market is unbelievably saturated; we understand that, and the technology in the earplug space is constantly evolving. However, we believe there is a way to combine environmental responsibility with thoughtful design, ergonomics and acoustic performance.
Most disposable earplugs you might use at concerts, nightclubs or events are primarily constructed from petroleum-based plastic foams. Whilst these do a job of reducing loudness, they are massive contributors to an ever-growing waste problem.
That's where Mysonic comes in. Building on the potential of mycelium-based earplugs, our primary goal is to push this to its limits and beyond, improving the ergonomics, aesthetics and, most importantly, the fidelity to create a product that makes you feel as good as they sound.
